N.S.W Hospitals - Public and Private
60 Minutes Ch 9 Sunday 12 of June 2005.

All N.S.W. hospitals need to address infectious disease control methods to protect the public from new super bugs Staphylococci and MRSA.

Two public hospitals had their public areas swabbed and tested for super bugs, these hospitals mentioned on 60 minutes
were in Western Sydney.

There is a need for enhanced cleaning methods in public areas including vending machines, lift buttons, public phones and any areas of public waiting rooms to block antibiotic resistant strains of golden staph being moved around the public wards and corridors of all hospitals.
Disease Control Starts with Education
All visitors to all hospitals need to wash their hands upon arrival, to prevent the spread of disease to their loved ones.

Hospital staff need to realise these super bugs can strike down normal healthy people, people should not be exposed to this risk, hospitals by definition are supposed to save lives, people are dyeing in hospital from complications caused by microbes.

All hospital staff including doctors need to scrub their hands between patients to prevent passing deadly germs, to innocent people who are only seeking solutions to their own health problems.

The only way we survive on this planet, is that we have an immune system to fight off microbes - bacteria and viruses, the gap between resistance and being overwhelmed is closing with super germs becoming resistant to antibiotics that saved us in the
past 19th century, disease and death are knocking at the front door, we must never let them into our inner sanctum.

The N.S.W. Government lacks an infectious disease control policy for public/private hospitals.

The N.S.W. Health department needs to send in secret swab teams to take samples for testing in a laboratory.
All public and private hospitals need to be tested on a regular random basis including operating theatres, they must institute infectious disease controls, hospital staff need to wash their hands to prevent the carriage of super germs from one patient to
the next.

Fight germs with cleanliness.

N.S.W. has become nod nod land, falling asleep, falling off the lounge, dead on the floor.

All other Australian states must institute infectious disease control practices in their public/private hospitals.
A register for State Departments of Health must be instituted within all hospitals reporting in real time over the Internet so state
health officials can see trends in surgery infection rates.

State health departments need to lock down any hospital considered to be at risk, of serious infection, cleaning teams need to
be ordered to disinfect all public areas and operating theatres.

Steam cleaning should be used in difficult places, also boiling instruments the old fashioned way may be a better method than
the ultraviolet C method currently being used, there may be places on instruments where microbes are not killed, boiling water kills them all.

People doing their shopping and generally touching public surfaces need to be aware that these places are contaminated and they need to wash their hands when arriving back home, before they prepare any food for consumption, do not put your fingers
in your mouth or touch any broken skin area while in public places until your hands are washed clean.

There are people in society who do not wash their hands after going to the toilet, governments should educate people about
personal hygiene issues, affecting all people now, including children like never before.

City Rail
2nd of November 2004

We live in the richest state of Australia - New South Wales - the highest taxing state of Australia.
We should be getting more bang for our bucks.

Our train system is on par with third world systems, the people of Western Sydney have the worst service imaginable, it has
never been this bad, in living memory.

The people of Western Sydney want the same passenger service that our cousins to the North and East get at present.

Trains running late in Western Sydney and out of timetable order, even with a new timetable that is a lessor service to what we once had.
You have actually reduced the trains servicing the network and they no longer run as they should.
Incompetence, charade, mirage, deceit, decrepit excuses.

Trains are dirty and smelly and not cleaned as they once were, years ago full time staff did all the work - cleaning has been contracted for a number of years now with little benefit to commuters.

Cost shifting has benefited the contracting firms at the expense of hygiene and fundamental public perception.

We once had station staff on the job, looking after the passengers, no wonder more people are falling off the platforms the supervision is no longer there.

Bring back the rubbish bins on platforms, these can have a small opening for litter.

We did all this when New South Wales had less population than we now have.
So how was all this done then, consult your historical records or have these been destroyed as well?

Next they will be fitting hand rails on the roof of trains so passengers who feel crammed in the carriages can climb on the roof for more space.

If the Olympic visitors came back now, they would see what a great charade or sham the Olympics were, as far as how train transport operates now in 2004 in Sydney and beyond.

Do all of us a favor and resign and let someone else do it better, economic rationalism adds more money to the bank balance sure but the money is never re-invested back into the revenue source and this has to change.
The same is happening to electricity and water authorities profits stripped out as dividends.

We had a better rail system that worked in the past, how was this done Mr.Carr?

Mr Carr fix it or your gone.

A "Y" link at Canley Vale would help more people get home between Canley Vale and Granville via the Regents Park line.
Trains can then be sent via Regents Park to Granville or do the whole loop continuously around Regents Park.

Air Monitoring Stations Sydney
2nd of November 2004

In the late 1990's there was a promise to install a world first network of air monitoring stations throughout the Sydney Basin on a grid of 1 kilometre apart and all linked to a computer system to monitor air quality, reported in the newspapers and television.

This promise came from the N.S.W. Carr labor government.

The idea is that if a fire breaks out in a chemical plant the air pollution can be tracked as it moves in the airshed over Sydney.

The monitoring network would also look at the built up of pollution from cars, trucks and buses, to see where the bulk of pollution
is at any given time of day, so a management regime can be put in place.

The monitors would look at all the types of pollution including carbon monoxide, ozone, toxic chemicals and so on.

What has happened to these network monitoring stations? Absolutely Nothing.

The N.S.W. Government is closing some of the existing monitoring stations that are randomly placed around Sydney and has
done nothing about the promised world first system, mentioned above.

Super Choice - July this year 2005

Be aware of your superannuation if moved into smaller funds, your super could evaporate.
Funds disappeared in the UK when this scheme was introduced there, the regulators were under funded for their task,
in Australia the regulator must be wide awake or the same thing will happen here.
Compliance funding for increased surveillance has been increased by the federal government.

If the Superannuation funds were government guaranteed then the regulator would have to watch every single
transaction taking place, the funds are not government guaranteed so the owner of the fund needs to keep watch as well.

Request a statement often and have pity on your small business boss who now has much more paper work to do.

Funny thing your allowed to move your super around supposedly to make more money for yourself yet the
federal government still taxes your super while its growing not at the end of the term when your ready to retire,
to allow your fund to grow more quickly and keep ahead of inflation,
seems they still cannot keep their hands off your money.

Superannuation

Super can be brought to attention in this election with a reduction of tax on superannuation while the fund is growing
to making the tax applicable at the end, when the retirement age has been reached.

This will allow the fund to grow more quickly, instead of one step forward and two steps back, which the current super tax
scheme is like.

Also the fee's some of these funds charge and exit fee's can be regulated with a maximum that can be charged before being investigated, what is fair and reasonable, one would expect is not governed in this unregulated philosophy.

Children Living in Poverty

Millions of children are now living in poverty in suburban towns throughout Australia, their parents are unable to keep up with the cost of living, being minimum wage earners or single earner families or on a pension, even trades people.

The children are being deprived of outings and are mostly staying at home, instead of seeing the country like children of past decades, their whole world view is based around the home, school and television.

Families cannot afford to send their children on school excursions, so the kids miss out on traveling and new experiences.

Aboriginal children are also doing it tough, isolated in remote communities, all children must be able to travel to broaden their education horizons.

The new poor will have a very narrow view of the world around them.

Country region tourism is also suffering, with less people traveling for holidays.

Lots of families have not had a decent holiday for 10 years or more.

Housing the most Expensive for Decades

The rise and rise of housing prices is creating generations of siblings staying at home longer with their parents.

These young people may never marry or have children of their own, while trying to save enough money for a decent deposit to purchase a home of their own, renters are also doing it tough.

House prices in Sydney are around $1 million or higher, close to the city and half a million in the outer suburbs with blue collar workers earning around $30 - $40 thousand dollars per annum.

Trades people are now traveling an hour or more to the city for work and Sydney needs more affordable housing close to the city
to retain trades people for building and maintenance work.

The only other option is high speed public transport from the north, south and west, otherwise labour turnover will become more expensive.

Australia is experiencing a trades shortfall now and it can only get worse, as most companies will not train apprentices,
they only employ qualified trades people, most young people now, do not see themselves earning a trade wage as this will no longer buy them a house in the cities or provide for a family or guarantee any kind of future.

Young people are going to university, because they want a better life, they see university as the way to get it.

So much for the Federal Government pegging wages over the years with enterprise bargaining, the whole wages system is
about to fall over, the working poor are in debt like never before.

Cost of living, is just that, cost of living is what one needs to live, the politicians would never take a cut in their living standard
would they, they would never accept third world politicians salaries.

The Political Party will WIN
31st of August 2004

The party that looks after the over 50's unemployment situation may very well win this election.

Employers could be hit with an increase in tax unless they employ a percentage of over 50's in their work force.

There has been much talk about the over 50's needing help to find work but unfortunately little action from this current Federal Liberal Government.

Age discrimination is prevalent throughout Australia, employers find it easy to turn down people looking for work, the over 50's
are from a different educational era, compared to younger people who have been educated with computers in the class room.

The over 50's are the people who built Australia's prosperity in their working years and are generally very reliable hard working people.

Personal Debt

Before trying to reduce personal debt, contact consumer organisation's to find out about any scheme that you are considering
to sign on with as some scheme's actually put you further in debt.

Some consolidation loans can put you at further risk and increase your debt and repayments.

Consumer loans for household items are usually more expensive through finance companies higher interest rates, so buy with
cash and get a cash discount, check prices at other shops and bargain with the sales staff by quoting other store prices.

Once the hooks are in your flesh, they can be pulled to inflict more pain - so beware.

Cut up your credit cards and pay in cash, if you have more than one credit card, only keep one and get rid of the rest, your debts will reduce, only pay for what you need like food and housing payments including rent, until your circumstances improve, cut down on luxury items.

Get rid of mobile phone plans as soon as possible and buy pre-paid cards, cut down on mobile phone usage or cancel altogether and revert to your home land line.

See Electro Magnetic Radiation

Fairfield in Western Sydney

Fairfield City is set to recycle up to 80% of its general garbage at a new facility at Eastern Creek.

The plant turns household rubbish into compost and extracts methane gas from the waste to help power the plant, the compost can be used on gardens when finished.

All items are sorted from a conveyor belt with glass and metal taken out, plastic bags are removed by giant spinning arms with
the organics put into compost heaps and turned over by machines.
